Open Access?
Open Access is defined as the free, irrevocable, worldwide access to scientific and scholarly information to users via the Internet. "The Internet now offers the chance to constitute a global and interactive representation of human knowledge, including cultural heritage and the guarantee of worldwide access" (Berlin Declaration).

Here you will receive all necessary application forms if you wish to submit requests for reimbursement as FU member of Open Access publication charges for articles.
Publikationsfonds
In autumn 2012, the Open Access publication fund was established by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) and the Free University of Berlin. Articles funded by the publication funds that were published in 2012 by FU members in Open Access journals, incurred for the publication fees and met the conditions set out by the DFG for reimbursement.
For 2012, a total of 26,325 EUR is available, and 75% by the DFG and 25% were applied by the Free University. In February 2013, the Executive Board of Freie Universität Berlin has decided to fund permanently, ie (maturity date 2015), for members of the university vorzuhalten also by the DFG program expired. An application for funding in 2013 and 2014 was provided by the DFG.
